A couple of members of the Ubuntu Georgia US LoCo team (Josh and Nick Ali) recorded on April 2nd, 2009 an interview with the famous Mark Shuttleworth, CEO of Canonical and founder of the popular Ubuntu OS. In the 50-minute long interview, they talked about the upcoming Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty Jackalope) operating system and its controversial features.

Among other interesting topics, Mark Shuttleworth discusses the future of the Ubuntu operating system; the Ayatana project, which tries to enhance the desktop experience of Ubuntu; the Ubuntu and Linux community; the desktop of tomorrow; the Ubuntu Server and the importance of cloud computing; the Debian vs Ubuntu myth; Ubunet; Canonical; Google Summer of Code... and even some personal aspects, for his most curious fans! In other news, the Ubuntu team announced today the features of the upcoming release of Ubuntu Netbook Remix 9.04, an operating system designed for netbook users. Being the first version that will be officially integrated into the Ubuntu family, Ubuntu Netbook Remix 9.04 will have a new and easy-to-use user interface, especially designed for today's netbooks, such as Asus Eee PC 900, Asus Eee PC 1000, Asus Aspire One, Samsung NC10 and Dell Mini9. Ubuntu Netbook Remix 9.04 will also feature faster boot times and up-to-date applications.

One of the most expected operating systems of the year, Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty Jackalope), is scheduled for release on April 23rd and it will come with a new notification system, faster boot times, GNOME 2.26 desktop environment, community desktop themes and brand new artwork. Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty Jackalope) will be powered by Linux kernel 2.6.28, which will offer support for many new devices (wireless, webcams, mobile phones, etc) and the evolutionary EXT4 filesystem.
