Mark Russinovich’s “Zero Day” has been released to manufacturing, so to speak. I have told you about Zero Day back in December 2010, when I posted details about an interview that Russinovich did at TechEd 2010 in Berlin. Microsoft’s Technical Fellow which now deals with Windows Azure instead of the plain Windows platform, talked then about his upcoming debut as a cyber-thriller author with Zero Day.

Well, the RTM version of Zero Day, Russinovich’s first novel, is now available for purchase from all major book retailers.

Here is how the author himself describes the book: “Zero Day is a book in the style of Crichton and Clancy, weaving technical fact into the story,” he notes.

“If you like the Sysinternals tools, the articles I post on this blog, are interested in computer security, or just enjoy a heart-stopping thriller, you’ll like Zero Day.”

Readers interested in finding out more about Zero Day can head over to the official website set up for the book.

Russinovich shares with the world a synopsis from the novel, as well as a sample chapter, and users will be able to easily find links to online book retailers.

One of the people that were granted an early read of Zero Day was Microsoft’s co-founder Bill Gates.

“Mark came to Microsoft in 2006 to help advance the state of the art of Windows, now in his latest compelling creation he is raising awareness of the all too real threat of cyberterrorism,” Gates reveals about Zero Day.

Russinovich is also welcoming feedback on Zero Day by readers, you will be able to find an email address on his blog (no, it’s not his microsoft.com mail). So far, feedback has been quite positive as he himself admits, providing even proof in a blog post.
