There have been previous rumors of a new Hulk movie being in the works, but they were mostly hopes coming from fans and unofficial gossip which was like water cooler talk around the office. No hard evidence to indicate that the movie had been greenlit has surfaced until today.

Confirmation comes from the mouth of the man who plays Hulk, Mark Ruffalo, who spoke with Digital Spy and told them that Marvel is “for the first time, entertaining the idea of [a new Hulk movie being made].”

He jokes that “When we did The Avengers it was basically 'No!', and now there is some consideration for it.”

However, don't jump for joy just yet, Ruffalo insists that the movie is still in the very early stages “But there's still nothing definitive, not even a skeletal version of what it would be. I look forward to going down that road, if we could crack that nut.”

Curiously, it turns out that Lou Ferrigno, the actor and bodybuilder who played the original Hulk between 1977 and 1982 in the television show was actually right when he said Marvel had its eye on a new Hulk movie.

At a comic convention in Minneapolis, the actor was quoted as saying “Now because he saved the day they're making another solo Hulk movie after the second Avengers comes out.” That's two Hulks, a former and a current, confirming that the movie is being made.

But until then, you'll be able to see Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk in the latest Avengers movie that is still being filmed at the moment and will be released in cinemas in the spring of 2015.
