Mark Rein, the executive vice president at Epic Games, believes that Intel’s failure to improve its graphics technology affected the PC market and the development of better video game experiences on the platform.

Via Twitter, the developer states that, “For years we tried to convince Intel to fix their graphics but their data said they were good enough. PC innovation suffered for it.”

The executive also suggests that Intel dominated enough of the market not to care too much about the evolution of graphics.

At the moment, the team at Epic Games is working on Unreal Engine 4, which is designed to use the newest technology available on the PC while also taking advantage of the unique features of the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox 720.

The company is also working on a game based on it, called Fortnite.
