It should be a sweet come-back for the American ex-champion Marion Jones. After staying almost one year to renew her physical condition, she now has the guts to try it again.
It surely hasn't been easy for the Olympic and World champion to watch the athletic competitions on the TV screen. Ever since she got pregnant with former champ Tim Montgomery, she hasn't been the same.
It's not like someone said that she should have waited. But it's clear that having a child made her lose the form that brought Marion the surname of "Queen of the 100m races". And that wasn't all that she's been through since her last triumph. She was dragged repeatedly in drug scandals, most of them concerning her hubbie, Montgomery. Without failing any drug test though, she had to settle for 4th in last year's Monterrey race in Mexico.
Not only that, but she also won the lawsuit against Victor Conte, the man that accused Marion of using banned substances to win her 5 gold medals in Sydney 2000 Olympics.
At the age of 30, Marion Jones is very keen on making her reappearance in the athletic circuit. She will look into finding her "yesterday" form in Veracruz, Mexico, in the 100m race. Charles Wales, her manager, said to the media that Jones is more fit than ever and will try to stun everyone with a great performance on Saturday.
