Mario Party DS is a video game developed especially for the Nintendo DS, as its name implies. It is the eleventh title in the series, or the twelfth in Japan, which saw another game being released in the franchise. Mario Party DS was released in this country on November 8, 2007, followed by the North American release on November 19, 2007. In Europe the title was introduced on November 23, 2007, and Australia got its hands on it on December 6, 2007. As with most Mario Party games, emphasis is laid on the game's multiplayer aspect.

A new element to the series is the use of the Download Play functionality of the Nintendo DS, which allows four people to play wirelessly using only one game card. Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Yoshi, Princess Daisy, Toad, Wario and Waluigi are the playable characters who will be guided by you on a series of minigames that promise countless hours of fun and excitement.

The game is played by using a "dice block" numbered 1-10, and by moving your player in accordance with the number you roll. There are many spaces, such as mole shops and squares that can help or hinder your progress. The boards are Wiggler's Garden, Toadettte's Music Room, DK's Jungle, Kamek's Library, and Bowser's Pinball Machine.

The game gained critical acclaim, largely due to the fact that the minigames were very fun and innovative, unlike any other ones in the previous titles in the franchise. The sales of the title were also pretty big, as it set a record in the franchise, disposing of almost 5 million copies since its launch. Here are a couple of things that might help you play this great game.
