Mario Party 8 is a video game for the Nintendo Wii. It is the tenth game in the series (eleventh in Japan) and the first to be released on Nintendo's Wii console. In Mario Party 8 the Star Carnival rolls into town and Ballyhoo, (the main host and possibly the owner of the Star Carnival) along with Big Top, Ballyhoo's talking top hat, challenges everyone to the "Star Battle" which the winner is crowned Superstar and wins a year worth of candy, but Bowser comes and breaks the candy rides and steals all of the candy. Mario must save the Star Carnival. Blooper and Hammer
Bro join the party only after you successfully complete Star Battle once with any character and again with one of the two newly obtained characters to get the other.
The game features a series of characters that let out an exclamation through the Wii Remote speaker the player is controlling, signifying it is his/her turn to play. The game has 65 new mini-games that utilize the Wii's capabilities as well as six new boards and twelve different modes of play.
Unlockables
Unlockable Characters and Maps Blooper/Hammer Bro - You'll get one of these characters when you beat Star Battle with any character. For the second, beat Star Battle again with the first one you unlock.
Bowser's Warp Orbit - Beat the Star Battle with any character
Unlockable Minigames The following are minigames that can be unlocked in the Minigame tent.
Crown Showdown - Unlock at least one minigame in the 4 player, 1 vs. 3 player, 2 vs. 2 minigame and Duel minigame categories.
Flip Out Frenzy - Unlock at least one 4 player minigame.
Test For The Best - Unlock this mode in the Fun Bazaar.
Tic Tac Drop - Unlock at least one Duel minigame.
