14 DAY TRIAL // Even back in his “Saved by the Bell” days, Mario Lopez was a hottie. He continues to cling on to this status to this day, so his female fans went crazy when he revealed that he wrote in his new book, “Between Us,” about a one-night stand he had in Las Vegas with a “mega pop star.”
They wanted to know who she is.
As you can see in the video below, Mario talked about the one-night stand earlier this month, during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, on which he promoted “Between Us.”
The one-night stand was with Britney Spears
He told Ellen that he wouldn’t reveal the name of the woman, out of respect for her and out of respect for his current wife. He also explained that they were still “friendly,” and refused to answer if he’d interviewed her since the fling, which happened “maybe six or seven years ago… eight years ago?”
Ellen’s first guess was Britney Spears, and Mario seemed a bit flustered as he tried to laugh his way out of a denial of sorts.
Us Weekly confirms now that it was indeed Britney whom he slept with. They were both single at the time, as he had just broken up from Karina Smirnoff, one of the pro dancers on ABC’s Dancing With the Stars, while she had ended her second marriage, to former backup dancer turned aspiring rapper Kevin Federline. K-Fed, as the media dubbed him.
The magazine doesn’t offer more details of the hookup, but we’re probably supposed to buy Mario’s book for all those juicy bits.
Meanwhile, Britney has sworn off men
While Mario is selling his book by putting all kinds of private details out there, Britney is said to be closing herself off from the world even more, after the heartbreak that came when her latest boyfriend, attorney David Lucado, was caught cheating on her with a random girl he picked up at a club.
The two dated for about 18 months and were even talking about having children together (rumor has it), but the relationship came at a sudden end when he was filmed getting flirty and touchy-feely with another woman.
According to rumors online, the footage was then shopped around to the biggest celebrity publications and eventually ended up in the hands of Britney’s father, who must have paid very good money for it.
He didn’t show it to Britney, but he did inform her of what he’d learned. He also handled every detail of the split, telling David he was to pack his bags and get out of Britney’s life for good, and never make contact with her again.
The pop star is said to be devastated still, especially since David got along so wonderfully with her 2 boys with Federline. But she’s determined to focus on her sons mostly and on her career, and will eventually move on from this.
