14 DAY TRIAL // Nintendo has just released a new trailer for the upcoming wacky racing title Mario Kart 8, showing some of its new features and its take on the Rainbow Road.
The 2-minute-long gameplay trailer shows many of the new and returning characters battling on the asphalt and over it, in the new anti-gravity sections of the tracks.
The video shows the colorful Rainbow Road in all its splendor, with its vividly colored, crowded and noisy atmosphere, offering a glimpse of all the fun that is to be had once the game comes out.
The developers' take on the new features of Mario Kart 8 is that players will discover a new strategy to employ while racing and that they'll now be tempted to collide with other players in order to gain unique advantages, such as speed boosts or even drive their enemies off the road.
For those interested in exclusive collectables, the Mario Kart 8 Limited Edition pack comes with a neat blue shell toy that players can presumably hold as a memento of all the times they thought they were ahead only to have their dreams crushed at the last moment.
Mario Kart 8 lands exclusively on Nintendo's Wii U on May 30 in North America, Europe and Australia.
