I know that many of you are waiting eagerly for Super Mario Galaxy to be released. You will still have to wait some more, but at least now you will know how long you will have to wait.

According to JoyStiq, Nintendo of America President Fils-Aime has updated Stephen Totilo on the planned release for Super Mario Galaxy. Apparently, the game will come out sometime between the end of March and Christmas. So, they left a 9 months release window in case they screw up the development.

For all of you who don't own a Wii, it would be tough to play Super Mario Galaxy as Nintendo planned it out to a Wii exclusive. Keep in mind that Super Mario Galaxy is only the working title for the game. If you want to be certain that you will get your hands on a copy of the game, you can place your pre-order at Best Buy online stores. They have been taking pre-orders since the beginning of this month.

This is the first game in the Mario series to be set in outer space. Mario must go and save the princess who has been kidnapped by an unknown villain and taken into outer space. Some areas that Mario visits are completely round and in this way, Nintendo takes advantage of the 3D features of the game.

While in search for the princess, Mario can jump from one planet to another in order to collect various items and defeat enemies. As regarding multiplayer features, Super Mario Galaxy will feature a cooperative mode. Players will use the Nunchuck attachment to move Mario and the other buttons on the Wii remote to make him jump and fire.
