Standardization in Marine Corps’ uniforms prompts outrage

Officials in the Marines are fuming over new hats that are part of a standardized uniform. Some are complaining because the hats look too girly, while others claim that they look too “French.”

“We don’t even have enough funding to buy bullets, and the DoD is pushing to spend $8 million on covers that look like women’s hats!” one source tells the New York Post.

President Obama is blamed for imposing the same uniforms for men and women, without serving in the Marines himself.

In fact, the new hat, dubbed the “Dan Daly” after a World War I sergeant awarded two Medals of Honor, is inspired by one previously used from 1904 to 1918.

Many are still fond of their old, gender-specific one, which has been in use since 1922.
