On the 43rd anniversary of Marylin Monroe's death (Aug. 5, 1962), former L.A. County prosecutor John Miner, now 86, released some transcripts of tape recordings the actress reportedly made for Dr. Ralph Greenson shortly before she died.
The documents, which were believed to have been destroyed by Greeson, were obtained by the L.A. Times.
The reports, which have never been published, show that Monroe had talked about a one-night-fling with actress Joan Crawford and her love for her ex Joe DiMaggio, but also about her love for life.
Apparently, the former prosecutor does not think the screen goddess took her own life, as the therapy tapes prove she was quite happy and looking forward to the bright things in her future, the newspaper said.
After her death, Marylin has been mostly portrayed as on the verge to self-distruction.
The new reports show that the diva didn't have a fling with JFK, but she admitted having had a crush on Robert F.Kennedy.
Apparantly the acrtess confessed about her one-night-stand with Joan Crawford, but also about her never ending love for Joe DiMaggio and her marriage to the famous writer Arthur Miller.
"Joe D. loves Marilyn Monroe and always will. I love him and I always will. But Joe could not stay married to Marilyn Monroe, the famous film star. Joe has an image in his stubborn Italian head of a traditional Italian wife. . . . Doctor, you know that's not me . . . . Anytime I need him, Joe is there. I couldn't have a better friend."
"Marrying him was my mistake, not his. He couldn't give me the attention, warmth and affection I need. It's not in his nature. Arthur never credited me with much intelligence. . . . As bed partners we were so-so. He was not that much interested."
