"Dynasty" star Joan Collins met Marilyn Monroe at the beginning of her career, and the blond diva warned her over the dark side of Hollywood.
The encounter occurred at Gene Kelly's house, but Collins was far from impressed by Monroe's looks. She, now aged 62, recalls:
"I went to the bar and there was this kind of ordinary-looking girl sitting there.
Nothing to write home about. Pretty, with blue eyes, but you had to look closely to see that she was really pretty.
She asked me what I was doing and I said I had just signed a film contract.
She warned, 'Be careful, there are
wolves out there.' And I said, 'Ok, but there are wolves in London too.'"
Joan Collins, now 72, survived to every wolf, and is now confessing to having the same energy as when she was young. She is to make a UK tour with a 'one woman show' called "An Evening with Joan Collins", that will mainly consist of Joan talking about her life and career.
The show kicks off in Cardiff next April.
