Now that she's back on track, with a new album and a brand new tour, Mariah Carey takes a moment to reminisce about her former upheavals, both in her private life and in her career. In a recent interview, the diva, famous for her exorbitant demands, says that she only managed to pull through thanks to God.
Referring to her 'disaster' of a marriage to Tommy Mottola, the Sony Records big shot, Mariah insists that she was so tired with him permanently watching her that she knew that it just had to end some time or another. And, God again was the source of her power to overcome the depression that followed immediately after the marriage collapsed, in the public eye, we might add.
'My whole life has been some form of struggle that I've had to go through. And I think the main thing is if you're in a good place, put your trust in God and focus on your spirituality, everything will turn out the way it's supposed to', the diva stated.
And that it did, for Mariah at least. The millionaire singer is currently in a good place, although she has lost some of her superstar status that she enjoyed years ago. But the 'Butterfly' diva is still going strong and, by the looks of things, she will continue to charm millions of people with her music for a long time from now on.
