In a recent interview, the universally acclaimed pop singer said that, when the director Lee Daniels chose her for the part, she naturally assumed that he hadn't seen her cinematographic failure. And, later on, she even got confirmation that he hadn't watched it.
'I don't know if he's seen ["Glitter"] since then, but the great thing is, he's in the independent-film world and that's where "WiseGirls" was such a great validating moment for me - even though it was totally overshadowed by the debacle of "Glitter"', the singer, who got some positive critics for her part for the 2002 independent drama, told MTV News.
Just as she did in 'WiseGirls', the radiant and glamorous Mariah will take on the role of a waitress in 'Tennessee'. And, she warns, it will not be something predictable or anything in the line of the character she played in 'Glitter'. 'The character is not what you would think. This is not about hairdos and ensembles. The girl's in the trenches', the star explained.
