Going to show that there is never smoke without some sort of fire burning, rumors of Mariah Carey not being able to meet the deadline with her latest material, “Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel,” have been confirmed. According to a new post on the singer’s official
webpage, the release of the material was postponed one more time, to September 29.
The album was initially supposed to drop in music stores on August 28, but got pushed back to September 15, without as much as an official announcement. Rumors about Mariah either not being happy with what she had on the upcoming album or about feeling too much pressure from all sides as regards it continued to make rounds. Yesterday, as the singer canceled
all televised promotional appearances, the reports became truly pessimistic, saying the album would surely be postponed again.
“Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel Update: Mariah is putting the finishing touches on her newest album, Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel, and we have shifted all of our TV and promo appearances to coincide with the new release date of September 29th. We can’t wait for the fans to hear the new album!!” the update on the singer’s official webpage reads. The dates when Carey’s televised appearances have been rescheduled are yet to be revealed to the media and the fans.
Still, even with a delayed date set for the release, nay-sayers are still not convinced that Mariah is not in serious trouble with the album, and continue talking about how it might not actually see the light of day at all this year. Gossip blogger Perez Hilton, for one, is almost certain Mariah and her camp will try whatever means they can to push back “Memoirs” over and over again and, this way, avoid a confrontation in the charts with Whitney Houston, who is coming back to the music scene this fall with “I Look to You.”
This is, however, just speculation at this point, so fans would be better off not fretting about it right now. Keep an eye on this space for more details on Carey’s album, as we will keep you up to date with them as they become available.
