Diva Mariah Carey announced she will perform at this year MTV Video Music Awards, that will take place in Miami, Florida, on August 28. Mariah was nominated for Best Female Video and Best R&B Video for "We Belong Together".

Mariah Carey's "We Belong Together" was No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for eight weeks and also ruled the Pop 100 and Hot R&B Hip-Hop charts.

Surveys have placed Carey as one of the best-selling female recording artists ever worldwide. She was also the most successful artist of the 90s, according to Billboard magazine, and her singles have spent more weeks at #1 than any other living artist in Billboard history.

Carey's vocal style influenced a generation of singers who came after her, including Christina Aguilera and Beyonc� Knowles as well as many American Idol competitors.
