Just a few hours ago, a furious Nick Cannon took to his Twitter to deny reports that his marriage to diva Mariah Carey was going down the drain. Actually, he didn’t deny the divorce rumors, but he did say that it pained him to see Mariah made into the “bad guy,” insisting he would always love her.

The feeling is probably not mutual, because word on the street is that she has initiated the divorce proceedings. Official confirmation of this is still pending, but insiders tell E! News that Mariah is convinced that there’s no saving the marriage anymore.

“Mariah has started the divorce process. She's getting all her ducks in a row,” says the spy.

The same inside source claims that Nick, on the other hand, still wants the marriage to work and has even “recently asked if she wanted to bring in a marriage counselor.” The spy vouches Mariah won’t be giving Nick a second chance because she’s learned her lesson already.

“She won't be caught off-guard again,” the tipster says, referring to the way Nick overshared details about their private life and how much that hurt the singer. “She was devastated when he spoke out about their issues. She's started the proceedings to make sure the ball is in her court from now on.”

Earlier this year, while he was promoting a new album, Nick got candid on a series of topics that Mariah wanted to keep private, like their love life (or lack thereof before the wedding) and his mistresses before he started dating her.

This is when things took a turn for the worse for them, it is believed. By May, the fights had gotten so bad that Nick deemed it best for their 2 kids if he just moved out, because this way, he and Mariah could be civil to each other when they met.

A few days after word got out that they were having problems, Nick confirmed that he was no longer living in the same house as his wife, but he stressed that divorce was not an option just yet, which meant he still believed they would get back together.

If the latest report is accurate, Mariah is not on the same page as he is.

The two fell in love at first sight and were married in a super glam ceremony after a courtship of only a couple of months. They were dubbed the “odd couple” of showbiz, but year after year, they proved their haters wrong by renewing their vows.

Mariah and Nick have 2 children together, twins Moroccan and Monroe.
