This week’s issue of Star brings an insight into the life of the diva, painting the most unflattering picture of her ever.
“It’s really sad,” says one spy, who claims to have first-hand knowledge of what goes on in her life but refuses to go on the record with a name.
Apparently, Mariah doesn’t just act like a diva at all times, which we knew already, to one extent or another, but she also goes into trances often, drinks wine by the gallons, and is completely out of touch with reality. Brace yourself for an interesting read.
She’s a diva but she’s “crippled with insecurities”
The insider tells Star that all those things we’ve heard about Mariah throughout the years are true. She does hate it when people on her staff are more attractive than her, so she has them stick to a very strict dress code, which forbids them from wearing anything of color or too fashionable.
She also makes a point of always hiring only people she deems less attractive than she is, thinking she’d look better by comparison. That is, assuming anyone would look at the staff, because they’re under instructions to do nothing that would make them stand out.
Mariah also drinks wine every day, even at those times when she appears she’s not. As per the tipster, she has an assistant fill ginger ale cans with wine, which she then sips through a straw. Whenever she’s out, she has the same assistant give her refill, so he or she (the assistant) must always be prepared.
With all that, Mariah is terribly insecure. Now that her relationship with Nick Cannon has imploded, “her self-esteem is at an all-time low,” the source claims. “She’s run down and bloated, and she isn’t sleeping. It’s horrific to see her like this, but Mariah wears her heart on her sleeve. People dismiss her as a demanding diva, but that’s not entirely true. She’s crippled with insecurities,” adds the spy.
Mariah often goes into trances
Perhaps the most troubling part in the report (assuming it’s true) or the most hilarious one (if it isn’t), is about Mariah’s frequent trances. The tipster claims that she has an assistant hired especially to walk or stand behind her at all times, ready to catch her in case she goes into one such trance and topples over.
No one knows what causes them, but she gets them a lot. Any other person would panic and see a doctor for a prescription, but the report makes it sound as if Mariah is not troubled by her episodes, not enough to seek help at least. We’re to believe that no one from her staff and not even Nick tried to talk some sense into her.
To boot, Mariah often goes “two, three, sometimes four days in a row without sleeping,” which, combined with her drinking, is “a sure recipe for disaster.”
Mariah has her own soundtrack in life
This actually falls into the “Mariah Carey is a diva” narrative we’ve been hearing for many, many years. The same narrative would have us believe that the singer instructs her staff not to look her in the eye and never to address her unless previously spoken to.
Well, the Star insider claims that Mariah is actually one of those few human beings able to boast of having their own soundtrack in life, quite literally so. Whenever she has guests over, for instance, she has someone carry a portable speaker, accompanying her at all times, playing music she personally chose.
This way, she can always make an entrance like we see women do in movies. Slow-mo not included, we presume. We also assume the music changes depending on mood and context, which makes Mariah the most awesome person ever.
