Being a mother to twins may be time-consuming, but Mariah Carey also finds some time for her Lambs, her devoted fans. The singer is now back in the studio, working on a new album, as she happily announced on her Twitter.

Since before giving birth, the diva has been very active on her Twitter account, keeping her millions of fans up to speed with everything in her personal life and career.

As expected, she turns to Twitter once more to break the news of having started work on a new album, the follow-up to her “Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel,” which came out in 2009.

What’s even better, the new studio material will see her work again with one of her favorite longtime collaborators, Jermaine Dupri.

“So happy to be back in the studio with the one & only @Mr_Dupri aka Jermash!” the singer tweeted, attaching a photo of herself in the studio, as if more confirmation of the happy news was needed.

For the time being, these are all the details available about Mariah’s upcoming album, but they’re more than enough to get fans hyped.

In fact, many of them are keeping their fingers crossed in the hope that the material will come out in 2012, which is rather unlikely if she’s just started working on it.

In other Mariah-related news, while she’s yet to properly introduce her twins to the world, the singer has been keeping very active, trying to lose the pregnancy weight.

Recent paparazzi photos of her out and about with a personal trainer show that she’s nearly there, having already bounced back into pre-pregnancy shape, as we also noted on a previous occasion.

“My body went through so much. Holding those twins in – you have to keep them in as long as possible. It’s a sacrifice you make for them. Literally I was like, 47-weeks pregnant,” Mariah said on her first appearance after giving birth about what it was like to be carrying twins.
