"The Emancipation of Mimi", the latest album released by the well known singer, was supposed to show the world a whole new Mariah Carey. In terms of music, maybe, but seems that the diva has the same problem as always: not being able to accept that people might actually have a different opinion on things than hers.
This time, she got furious with Eminem for playing private answer phone messages she left him during his live concerts on Anger Management tour. The singer left the voice-mail for the rap star when he worked on Carey's Charm Bracelet album in 2001.
Eminem has indeed a history of slamming celebrities, but this time he took the whole process a little too far, pretending that both her music ( " We belong together" song ) and her voice messages make him puke. Literally!
"I heard you were getting back with your ex-wife," the voice says. "Why won't you see me? Why won't you call me? You're not calling me... " . This is the supposed voice message that trigged the conflict. According to one of Mariah's friends, the voice on the tape does not belong to the singer. Apparently, Mrs. Carey had sentimentally rejected Eminem in the past and this is his way of dealing with this rejection.
The rap star has no comment on this matter yet, but it is well known that he does not feel highly about the female singer, as he stated on Rolling Stone Magazine in 2001: "On the whole personal level, I'm not really feeling it. I just don't like her as a person."
Mariah's manager, Benny Medina, told the Post that while they "appreciate Eminem as an artist, lately his work has seemed tasteless and unnecessarily mean-spirited."
That's what the PR people have to say about this, but Mariah takes into serious consideration taking this whole situation to court.
Anyway, that seems to be stars' favorite method of dealing with things.
