14 DAY TRIAL // After six years of marriage, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have decided to part ways and get a divorce, despite the fact they are the proud parents of a lovely pair of 3-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe. Reports are now saying that both sides are feeling the separation.
Page Six claims to have talked with insiders who indicate that Cannon in particular has taken this whole thing very badly, especially since it has surfaced that he’s been issued with what can only be considered a gag order, a confidentiality agreement from Mariah’s lawyers, that effectively prevents him from talking to the media, or risk suffering “severe” financial punishments.
“He seems depressed,” sources point out, as the actor and TV presenter has confirmed that he and Mariah haven’t been living together for a while now and that he’s been sleeping in hotel rooms for the past six months.
The source also revealed that Cannon has been given full access to his children during the split, but he’s still sad to be losing his marriage. The word on the street is that Mariah is divorcing him because she’s convinced he cheated on her. His entourage maintains that this is not so.
Although Mariah has prevented Cannon from disclosing any more details about the divorce, her representative has issued an official statement in which he says “I am not commenting on Mariah’s personal life, but Mariah is focusing on her children and her upcoming tour.”
What that basically means is that Nick Cannon is the last person she’s thinking of these days. This wasn’t the case a few months ago, when it was reported that Carey was so worried about him, that she sent out a special security detail to make sure that he wasn’t cheating on her with other women and that he wasn’t drinking alcohol because “he gets in trouble when he drinks.”
Another source of disappointment and aggravation for Mariah was a particular interview Nick gave some while ago in which he bragged about bedding several celebrities before Mariah, including the infamous Kim Kardashian. He even went as far as to give some saucy details from the affair.
This is said to have particularly rubbed Carey the wrong way and this was the main reason he was thrown out of the house some time ago. Things degenerated with time and now the couple has confirmed that they are splitting since they can’t work out their differences
