14 DAY TRIAL // Season 12 of American Idol ended the other night, crowning Candice Glover as winner. As expected, controversy surrounds certain performances included on the show – Mariah Carey’s, more specifically, one of the four judges on the panel.

On a show that frowns upon lip-synching, it sure seemed like Mariah was doing just that during her 5-minute medley of her greatest hits, angry voices are saying online.
Moreover, the performance had been taped in advance.
A rep for the singer admits that, while it’s true that she didn’t perform on the finale per se, the entire segment had been shot live.
“No, she did not lip-synch! She sang 3x and even sang additional songs for fans in between [commercials],” the publicist explains.
Mariah herself hasn’t talked about the subject yet, and neither have her 3 fellow judges.
