Singer and actress Mariah Carey, exasperated by the rumors about her and actor Eddie Murphy being romantically involved, denied allegation, saying they are just best friends.

The speculations sparked in the media when the Diva was spotted cuddling with actor Eddie Murphy, in a Miami club, one month ago.

While in Miami, attending the MTV Video Music Awards, Carey, 35, was dining with friends when she got a call from divorced Murphy to go on a date.

After arriving in a club, around 2 a.m., the couple began whispering and huddling together before sitting at a table, where Murphy held hands with Mariah.

But the singer denied allegations, claiming she didn't even met the actor after the showbiz extravaganza.

She says: "We were hanging out. I'm a huge Eddie Murphy fan. Maybe people could just see that, and that's why they made a big drama. But there is nothing going on. That's the last time I saw him."
