14 DAY TRIAL // While confirmation on her rumored pregnancy is still pending, Mariah Carey is keeping herself busy – by going into fashion with her own clothing line, it has emerged.
The singer, who already has several fragrances to boast of, is also eyeing a foray into fashion with her own lifestyle collection, which will be made possible via a collaboration with HSN, E! Online has learned.
Granted, this is not the first time that word of this gets out in the media, as E! was reporting that word of an MC collection was making the rounds as early as March this year.
Even though more details for the new line have not yet been made public, fans can rest assured at least on one count: it will not burn a hole in their pocket once it’s out.
“The maybe mama is teaming up with cable shopping network HSN to unveil a lifestyle collection that will feature footwear, jewelry and a limited edition version of her fragrance Luscious Pink, WWD reports,” E! writes.
Unlike other celebrity designers and contrary to what skeptics may believe of Mariah’s expensive taste, her fashion line will target the average shopper.
“While her celeb designer counterparts are out raking in the big bucks for their lines (ahem, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen), Mariah’s collection will start at just $40 and top out at $200 – pretty affordable, no?” E! asks.
“Long story short, expect lots of butterflies and Mimi goodness when Carey’s line launches Nov. 29 on HSN,” the same report reads.
On a more personal note, despite pictures and rumors that may indicate that the singer is with child, both she and her husband remain unusually quiet on the topic.
The couple issued statements shortly after word got out in the press, saying an announcement would come when the time was right – but it never did.
“I’ve said it before and I’ll say it time and time again – when my wife feels like talking about whatever she wants to talk about, you will hear it directly from her,” Cannon said at the time.
“We all know it’s extremely personal, and it is for a woman to deal with things with her body, and especially when dealing with the idea of childbirth and all that stuff,” he added.
Back then (meaning at the end of August this year), rumor had it Mariah was 4 and a half months pregnant.
