Mariah Carey is currently in London, staying at the posh Dorchester Hotel and preparing for an upcoming event, the turning on of the Christmas lights at the Westfield Shopping Centre. Since she promised fans attending it that it would be one of the most impressive, fancy and beautiful events of the sort they ever saw, Mariah made a list of demands, which also included being surrounded by 20 all-white kittens and 100 white doves, and that were promptly turned down, the Daily Mail writes.

Sources close to the organizers of the event say that they did their best to accommodate all of Mariah’s demands, especially since they knew from the very beginning that her list would include some out of the ordinary, as one might call them, requests. However, not even they were prepared for pure white kittens and white doves, and especially not for the numbers asked of them, too many in such a short time. Sadly, they had to tell her they could not deliver.

“We did manage to source the doves that we were going to release into the sky, but the kittens proved terribly difficult. In the end, it was made clear that due to health and safety, there was no way we could have the animals at Westfield. We do not allow pets into Westfield – that rule would apply for everyone. We have worked extremely hard to make sure that Mariah’s event is fantastic. Even the model of car had to be changed six times to one that her people liked,” a source tells the British publication of the event.

The demands that organizers could – and did – meet include finding and putting at Mariah’s disposal the perfect car to drive her from the hotel to the entrance of the shopping center, making sure the red carpet on which she’ll walk will be just the right shade of pink and granting her wish of being showered with butterfly-shaped confetti when turning on the lights. She will also get the security she asked for, the same source says, while her entourage will also be well provided for.

“The list – known in showbusiness circles as a ‘rider’ – included being driven by Rolls Royce along a pink carpet right to the pink podium where she is to wave a wand to turn on the lights. A source revealed the model of car had to be changed six times before she was finally happy. Miss Carey, 39, wants confetti shaped like butterflies, her favorite insect, to shower over her at the end. She has also requested an entourage of 15 along with about 80 security guards,” the Mail writes, still based on the words of the inside source.
