Should she ever decide to tell her story – in writing –, Maria Shriver, soon to be former Mrs. Arnold Schwarzenegger, stands to make a fortune. She’s been offered $15 million in advance for a tell-all, new reports suggest. Six weeks after her husband came clean and admitted to fathering a child with a housekeeper whom he had an extramarital affair, Maria filed for divorce last week.
Not only does she stand to walk away from the marriage with half of Arnold’s money because there’s no prenup to stipulate otherwise, but she may also make a fortune if she agrees to tell her story,
PopEater underlines.
Since word got out that she had
filed the papers for divorce, Maria has become the hottest commodity with publishers, despite the fact that she’s yet to express a desire to put her life story into words.
“A top publishing exec estimates Shriver could nab a book advance of more than $15 million,” sources tell the media, as cited by the aforementioned publication.
“That amount would break the all-time record of $15 million advance for former US president Bill Clinton's memoir, ‘My Life’,” PopEater adds.
“Shriver is already the author of six best-selling books, including ‘And One More Thing Before You Go’ and ‘What’s Happening to Grandpa?’” notes the e-zine.
While Maria is yet to announce her intention of penning her life story, reports online suggest that she’s already been offered $15 million to do so.
For the time being, though, the reports are unconfirmed.
On Friday, Shriver went and filed divorce papers, seeking to make official her separation from the former Governor of California, which occurred earlier this year.
Because she and Arnold were married for 25 years and given the lack of a prenuptial contract, she stands to be awarded half of Schwarzenegger fortune, estimated at around $400 million, it is being said.
