When Arnold Schwarzenegger's marriage to Maria Shriver came crumbling down in what was one of the biggest cheating scandals in the celebrity world, many believed she would never take him back. It would seem she has had a change of heart.

Maria and Arnold got separated when she learned he had been having an affair with a woman who worked as a housekeeper with the family for many years.

Arnold had even fathered her a child, who was raised close to his and Maria's kids.

Maria initially decided to end the marriage and moved out of the house. However, she recently had a change of heart and may be considering taking Arnold back, TMZ writes.

“Maria Shriver is telling friends she's now unsure if she wants to divorce Arnold Schwarzenegger. We're told Maria is torn, partly because of her strong religious beliefs that do not include divorce,” the celebrity e-zine writes.

It's no secret that Arnold never wanted to divorce Maria, reportedly trying to win her back from the moment she found out about the affair.

His efforts have doubled in recent weeks.

“Making matters even more complicated – we're told Arnold still desperately wants Maria back, and has been 'extremely sweet' to her and has made numerous gestures – which include presents – to win Maria back,” TMZ writes.

“Maria filed for divorce on July 1, though she moved out months earlier. She's already bought a mansion in Brentwood, CA, which she's in the process of renovating,” the e-zine further adds.

The British tabloid the Daily Mail says that Maria and Arnold actually spent Christmas together, which could be seen as a strong indication that, indeed, she's thinking of giving the marriage a second chance.

At the same time, spending the holidays together could be only an agreement the two have for the sake of the children, and not necessarily half confirmation that they're back on.
