"Desperate Housewives" actress Marcia Cross recently revealed she's so eager of having a family and children, that she's considering adoption, if she will not be able to conceive naturally.
Cross, 43, declared that, because of her age, she's not sure she will be able to have kids of her own anymore and encouraged women in their 30s to be more "proactive" about fertility.
She says: "I've always seen myself as a mother, and I will have children - whether naturally or by adoption.
From my experience, women in their 30s need to be proactive about their fertility. If you want to have kids, have them. You don't need to be in a couple to do that. Freeze your eggs, look into adoption."
Marcia Cross, born March 25, 1962, spent much of her early career on both daytime and nighttime soap operas, such as "The Edge of Night", "One Life to Live", "Another World" and "Knots Landing" and "Melrose Place".
Her most famous role was that of the mentally unbalanced Dr. Kimberly Shaw on "Melrose Place", which she played from 1992 to 1997.
In 2003, Cross joined the cast of "Everwood" playing the HIV-positive Dr. Linda Abbott. She played this role for one season before taking her current role, that of the all-too-perfect Bree Van De Kamp on "Desperate Housewives".
In 2005, she was nominated for both the Golden Globe and Emmy Awards for Best Leading Actress in a Comedy Series, for her work on the serial.
