Marc Anthony Throws Hissy Fit over Jennifer Lopez's New Lover

Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez had an amicable split when they decided their marriage was no longer working. However, in recent weeks, things have taken a turn for the worse, as she's been showing up in public with her new lover, backup dancer Casper Smart.

First, Marc was upset to see that JLo took Smart, who is just 24 years old, on a family holiday to Hawaii over Thanksgiving weekend, Star magazine writes in its latest print issue (story via here).

He called her up and admonished her severely for introducing her new lover, who might be just a rebound thing, to their two children already, says the report.

  However, he completely lost his cool when he learned that she'd also taken Smart to Peru, where she was supposed to meet Marc to shoot their new talent-searching show, Q'Viva: The Chosen.

“Casper was booked on a commercial jet – in economy, no less – back to Los Angeles [from a trip to Morocco with Lopez], but JLo had decided that she wanted him to go with her to Peru for ¡Q'Viva!,” a spy says for the aforementioned celebrity publication.

“When Marc learned through their mutual colleagues that she intended to bring him, he was furious. So in the conference call, he objected to Casper going to Lima, given that he and Jennifer were supposed to be working together, but Jennifer was indignant and insisted that Casper was coming,” adds the same insider.

Seeing how Marc couldn't convince Jennifer that bringing her lover on a business trip where her ex would also be present wasn't the right thing to do, Marc placed another call, this time threatening to quit the show if she kept at it like this.

He called Simon Fuller, whose company is producing the show, and who is credited as co-creator of American Idol, telling him he didn't want to work with Jennifer anymore if she insisted on being so inconsiderate.

“Marc told Simon the reason was, quite simply, JLo. He said, 'I can’t work with her!',” says the spy.

Eventually, Marc was convinced to go through with shooting for the show, but the incident did have consequences, Star further writes. Jennifer, for one, got so upset at him that he threatened him she'd take the kids.

“Jennifer is threatening Marc with the twins. She told him she is going to go for full custody. Jennifer claims he is very controlling and jealous,” adds the insider.
