Marc Anthony Opens Up About Divorce, What Led to It

For the first time since the shocking divorce announcement, Marc Anthony is speaking out. In a brand new interview for Nightline, the singer addresses ongoing rumors and reveals the real reason why he and Jennifer Lopez decided to go their separate ways.

As the video says, since the shocking announcement, Marc has refused to address the issue publicly, despite being quite up to date to the rumors circulating about it.

Now, “fed up” with the false stories making the rounds, he’s decided to break his silence and set the record straight: there was nothing sensationalistic about the breakup.

“I’ll tell you it wasn’t some sensationalistic happening,” Marc says when the interviewer asks him about the real reason his 7-year marriage came crumbling down.

Talk that he’d been unfaithful to Jennifer is nothing but unfounded rumors, he says. Infidelity wasn’t the cause of the split.

“Absolutely not,” he stresses. “Nothing sensationalistic… It was a realization on both our parts, so. It wasn’t shocking. These things happen. These things happen,” Marc adds.

Pressed for details with a direct question about whether he had an affair with a flight attendant, the singer underlines that much has been written in the press – but none of it is true.

“There was a flight attendant. There was a pilot, I heard. There was this guy sitting next to me in a rehab in Houston. I’ve heard it all,” he says.

“Celebrity watching and speculation is almost like a sport. It’s a decision that we made jointly, and that’s how I’ll answer that,” Marc adds.

He also says that he’ll always love Jennifer and, at the end of the day, this is all that matters for him: that she and their two children know that.

In the interview, Marc also promotes his upcoming album of Spanish love songs, and his line at Kohl’s and new reality series, both business ventures he got into with Lopez.
