Marc Anthony Gets New Tattoo for Girlfriend

Marc Anthony has a new lady in his life and, since the best way to profess his love for her is in ink, he's just gotten a brand new tattoo. It reads “freedom” and it's as a sort of homage to her, it has emerged.

The singer and his 24-year-old girlfriend, model Shannon De Lima went into a tattoo parlor on New Year's – and he got ink that has a very special meaning for her.

While, at first glance, the tattoo might not seem like anything out of the ordinary, it's actually for Shannon, TMZ argues.

“Marc Anthony is making things permanent with his new 24-year-old hottie – by branding himself with a tattoo of the Statue of Liberty... a tribute to his GF and his new found 'freedom',” the e-zine writes.

“Venezuelan model Shannon De Lima was with Marc when a spot-on replica of Lady Liberty was tatted inside his right wrist on New Year's Eve in Miami. Marc's 17-year-old daughter Ariana was also front and center,” the celebrity publication adds.

The Statue of Liberty tattoo is actually for Shannon, a symbol of Marc's newfound freedom. This is his way of showing her what she means to him.

“We're told 'Statue of Liberty' is Marc's pet name for Shannon... because she 'freed' him from his past. While he was at it – Marc and Ariana also got unspecified matching tats on their outer wrists,” TMZ explains.

Fans must know that, until not long ago, Marc was also sporting a “Jennifer” tattoo on his right wrist, from back in the day when they were still together.

Speaking of Jennifer, recent reports claim that she too is eager to move on with her new man, dancer Casper Smart (also 24), having already started thinking about having a baby with him.
