Update from USM also includes various smaller tweaks and optimizations

USM has released Redshift - Astronomy version 1.8, an update to the company’s $11.99 / €10.99 reference application for Cosmos fanatics.

Redshift is an awesome astronomy application that puts all the major and dwarf planets, constellations and bright stars right on your iDevice. It’s not cheap, but it’s got something to show for it.

In Version 1.8, Redshift offers Japanese localization, as well as a tool for mapping the grid and poles of planets and moons. Various smaller tweaks and optimizations are also included in this release.

Redshift - Astronomy requires iOS 4.3 and works with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch 3rd generation, iPod touch 4th generation, iPod touch 5th generation and iPad. It’s also optimized for iPhone 5, and all iPad models (Universal app).
