The special Google doodle is not all that the company is doing for Valentine's Day, its Maps team has created the Map Your Valentine website which enables you to send a special someone a custom Google Maps-built Valentine.

"Sometimes, what means the most isn't something. It’s somewhere. Use Google Maps to remind your Valentine of a special place," the site reads.

The idea is simple enough, just fill in your email address, your special someone's email address and find a place that the both of you will appreciate. Google will take care of the rest.

You can fill-in a heart-felt message, if you're going for the full effect after which you're basically set to send it.

You can pick a map location either by entering its address or, by browsing the map on the right. It's a custom, embedded Google Maps, dressed for the occasion.

The zoom bar looks like Cupid's arrow and Pegman is now Pegman and Pegwoman, or maybe Pegmen.

The site looks rather snazzy, but its functionality is simple, as it should. It's actually a pretty nice idea, most people have at least a few places that they feel attached to.

It's easy to find a place you want and send an email and the recipient is probably going to appreciate it quite a lot.

The site has been live for a couple of days now, but Google only registered the domain, along with several related ones, last week.

Map Your Valentine is now linked to on the main Google.com homepage guaranteeing a huge influx of visitors. However, the Valentine's Day logo, which has been live on several localized versions of Google is still not available on Google.com. Most likely though, it should be going up very soon now.
