Flexible, foldable and rollable gadgets have been a thing of Sci Fi for many years, but soon they won't be fiction anymore.

That's because LG will finally mass-produce its flexible OLED displays in the fourth quarter of 2013.

And knowing how things move in the IT industry, I imagine some prototype gadgets/phones will be ready to rumble by then.

If not, it won't take more than a month or so for the first offers to come.

LG's flexible OLED technology won't fulfill all dreams. The screens are definitely not rollable.

They are reasonably bendable though, so we can at least know for certain that tight pockets won't damage our portable electronics anymore.

“LG Display has completed the development of our first flexible displays. We’ve already shipped samples to clients including LG Electronics. LG Display will mass produce flexible displays from the fourth quarter of this year,” LG told Korea Times.
