14 DAY TRIAL // For the first time since he was publicly shamed for lying about his dead girlfriend who never even existed, Manti Te’o of Notre Dame sat down for an interview with Katie Couric, of which several highlights were just released on Good Morning America.

For one, Manti says that he was a victim too but, at the same time, he admits to lying to everybody about his “girlfriend” once he found out the truth.
He had no other choice but to, he tells Katie.
“Katie, put yourself in my situation. I, my whole world told me that she died on Sept. 12. Everybody knew that. This girl, who I committed myself to, died on Sept. 12,” Te’o says.
“Now I get a phone call on Dec. 6, saying that she's alive and then I'm going be put on national TV two days later. And to ask me about the same question. You know, what would you do?” he adds.
