14 DAY TRIAL // Now it’s the time for Manjaro Openbox 0.8.9 RC2 to get released, after most of its brethren received similar updates.
Manjaro Openbox 0.8.9 RC2 is a Linux distribution based on well-tested snapshots of the Arch Linux repositories and 100% compatible with Arch. Manjaro has slowly become one of the best Arch-based distributions, and the Openbox flavor is powering on with yet another Release Candidate.

Manjaro Openbox 0.8.9 RC2 comes with a lot of changes, such as a new Linux kernel, which has been updated to version 3.10.28. Also, Turbulence has been updated, the evodark and evolight wallpapers have been added, the darknessFall theme has been applied, multiple desktops are now available, tint2 has been updated, the new conky (LSD) with Manjaro theming has been added, and the Midori browser is now available by default.
“Turbulence started as a tool to customize various aspects of your operating system at first boot for the KDE desktop. Similar to Chakra’s kapudan, written in QT and Python, Turbulence is completely unique to Manjaro. To make our openbox editions even more userfriendly, we decided to port Turbulence also to that desktop environment,” also said the developer in the announcement.
Turbulence features a nice gray graphical layout, provides information about Manjaro to new users, and allows users to customize the distribution.
