Manjaro Openbox 0.8.9 Preview, a Linux distribution based on well-tested snapshots of the Arch Linux repositories and 100% compatible with Arch, has been released as a respin of the original Manjaro OS.

The new Openbox respin of Manjaro has been released and, just like the KDE version, it features a large number of changes and updates.

“I’m now working on the ‘fat’ release – Evolution – featuring dcells Turbulence (dcell is modifying a version for Openbox). Hoping to have a test build of Evolution for you by Weds. Night.”

“In this testbuild, we hope that we have fixed all known issues we had in thus. Please start VirtualBox and create with Gparted any possible filesystem and partition option available and try to break thus’ advanced mode,” said the developer in the official entry on the Manjaro Blog.

Highlights of Manjaro Openbox 0.8.9 Preview:

• The Culinax’s post-install script has been adapted in order to work with Manjarobox. It comes with lots of choices and various options. • Parcellite and Synapse have been removed, as they can now be added via post-install script; • The darknessFall theme has been added and it's now the default one; • manjaro-green mouse hovers are now available; • The color of the LXterminal output has been changed to Manjaro green; • Tint2 has been moved to the bottom layer, to avoid open windows from getting “stuck” underneath panel; • New backgrounds have been added and the Slim theme from dcell has been added.

Manjaro is a user-friendly Linux distribution based on the independently developed Arch operating system, which is known for being extremely customizable.
