After having informed its users about the release of the tenth update for Manjaro Linux 0.8.12 that fixes the nasty EXT4 software RAID data corruption bug in all supported kernels, the Manjaro Linux development team has had the pleasure of announcing the immediate availability for download and testing of Manjaro Linux 0.8.13 RC2.

So, as you might have guessed, this is the second and most probably the last Release Candidate version of the upcoming Manjaro Linux 0.8.13 distribution, which will replace the current stable version, Manjaro Linux 0.8.12. The RC2 release is based on the latest upstream repository of the Arch Linux operating system as of May 31, 2015.

According to today's announcement, Manjaro Linux 0.8.13 RC2 ships with the lightweight Xfce 4.12 desktop environment as default interface of the Manjaro Linux Xfce edition, which has been tweaked and patched to offer the best Xfce desktop experience possible, and of course, the latest KDE Plasma 5.3.1, KDE Applications 15.04.1, and KDE Frameworks 5.10.0 technologies for the KDE editions of Manjaro.

"After another two weeks of development we are proud to present to you our second release candidate of our next stable release, Manjaro 0.8.13," says Philip Müller on behalf of the Manjaro Development Team. "Stable branch was used to create these install medias. Please give us feedback and report any issues with this release."

The graphical and command-line installers have been improved

It is a known fact that the forthcoming Manjaro Linux 0.8.13 distribution will include a new graphical installer called Thus, which has received a significant number of new features and fixes. Also, the command-line installer has been improved by adopting syslinux changes, as well as initramfs/vmlinuz renaming, fixed pacman configuration, and an option for configuring keyboards.

You can download Manjaro Linux Xfce 0.8.13 RC2, Manjaro Linux KDE 0.8.13 RC2 and Manjaro Linux Cinnamon 0.8.13 RC right now via Softpedia. Please keep in mind that these are pre-release versions that contain unresolved issues. Thus, we advise you not to install them on production machines where stability is quite necessary.
