Manjaro KDE, MATE, GNOME, and Cinnamon New Community Editions Officially Released

All the Manjaro flavors can be downloaded from Softpedia

Manjaro, a Linux Distribution based on well-tested snapshots of the Arch Linux repositories and 100% compatible with Arch, has received a major update to the community editions, Mate 1.6, Cinnamon 1.7, Gnome 3.8 and KDE 4.10.2.

The community editions of Manjaro are released in addition to the official flavors, and are put together by fans of Manjaro.

Manjaro KDE Community Edition was released by Yusuf and Cumali from Manjaro-Turkey. It's based on the latest KDE packages, 4.10.2 and Razor-Qt 0.5.2.

Also, Lanzelot and Homerun have been configured to get the best experience from the KDE Desktop. The Razor-Qt desktop environment has been polished to match KDEs design.

The KDE based Manjaro distribution benefits from over 100 recorded bugfixes, which include improvements for the Personal Information Management suite Kontact, the Window Manager Kwin, and quite a few others.

The distribution is based on Linux kernel 3.8.11-1, which at this point is the latest stable version released. Manjaro KDE Community Edition also uses an updated Manjaro System Manager, mhwd 0.2.7-2, Octopi 0.1.0422-1 (a pacman frontend), pamac 0.7.3-1, systemd 202-2, and xorg-server 1.14.1-1.

Manjaro Cinnamon/Gnome Community Edition is the second flavor of Manjaro released by fans.

“It features the brand new Gnome 3.8 point release and Cinnamon 1.7. All packages got updated and the manjaro-tools got better integrated into the system. Issues with mhwd got fixed,” reads the official announcement.

Manjaro Mate Community Edition is based on the recently released MATE 1.6, and it incorporates a fair amount of changes.

There are also a couple of other distributions that haven't received an update, LXDE and E17, but they will probably get new versions soon.

More details about the Manjaro Community Editions can be found in the official announcement.
