14 DAY TRIAL // Manjaro GNOME Community Edition, a Linux distribution based on Arch Linux and fully compatible with the Arch repositories, has reached version 0.8.11 and is now ready for download.
Even if the Manjaro distro is mostly known for its Xfce flavor, the community is also working on a number of other editions that have various desktop environments. In this case it's about the latest GNOME, which has been implemented in a vanilla state, with very few modifications.
Unlike the Arch Linux base that follows a rolling release model and that doesn't need regular major updates, Manjaro has a much more classical approach and regular versions are being released. The GNOME Community Edition already got a couple development iterations, so it's not really a surprise that the stable one is now available.

As it was to be expected, the developers have implemented GNOME 3.14 in the distribution. They couldn't have chosen any other way because this version of GNOME has been out for a couple of months already and it's actually a very good release.
"Just a quick note that our Gnome community edition installation media has been updated. This edition now provides Gnome in a highly vanilla state with only the baseline Manjaro tools, which we believe is the best long-term installation media solution for this particular DE. This release comes with Gnome 3.14 series and all the usual Manjaro and upstream updates," reads the official website.
You might also notice that the regular website of the Manjaro project is no longer working and that users are being redirected to the GitHub entry. They had some problems with hackers, but the problems are being fixed.
You can download Manjaro GNOME Community Edition 0.8.11 from Sofpedia. It's also a Live CD, so you should have any problems testing it. If needed, the password for it is "manjaro," without the quotes.
