Manjaro Cinnamon Community Edition, a Linux Distribution based on well-tested snapshots of the Arch Linux repositories and 100% compatible with Arch, is now at version 0.8.5.

Users need to take a good look at this version of Manjaro because it’s the last one. The developers will close the chapter on this desktop flavor.

“We are happy to release our final Manjaro Cinnamon Community Edition to the public. See this release as our last gift to this amazing Gnome-Fork, as we have to drop the support for Cinnamon in near future. We cannot maintain this edition anymore since upstream is dropping Cinnamon due incompatiblility with Gnome 3.8,” reads the official announcement.

Highlights of Manjaro Cinnamon Community Edition 0.8.5:

• Cinnamon desktop environment was updated to version 1.7.3; • Linux kernel was updated to version 0.8.5; • Xorg was updated to version 1.14.0; • Systemd was updated to version 198; • Proprietary driver support for AMD and Nvidia graphic cards has been implemented.
