Manjaro, a Linux Distribution based on well-tested snapshots of the Arch Linux repositories and 100% compatible with Arch, is now at version 0.8.5 Pre1.

The first version of the new 8.5 branch of Manjaro is out and packs quite a punch. It introduces a new graphical installer and it uses Gparted for partitioning, and a simple user interface that has options for various customizing options.

Highlights of Manjaro 0.8.5 Pre1:

• A new html-based display manager, using webkit for displaying the login screen, has been added; • A graphical settings tool has been added and can be used to customize the display manager easily; • Pamac has been updated; • Linux kernel has been updated to version 3.7.10; • Steam for Linux is installed by default.
