Windows Phone Mango, the new flavor of Microsoft's mobile operating system, is almost here, in the form of a software update, but should arrive on new devices in the near future too, and the newly unveiled ZTE Spirit will be one of them. The new mobile phone is rumored to be exclusively on its way to shelves in the UK as the Spirit, and is expected to be put on shelves starting with the fourth quarter of the ongoing year.

Apparently, the new ZTE smartphone powered by Windows Phone Mango has made an appearance into the wild before as the ZTE Tania, and should arrive on other markets around the world under this name.

ZTE's director of mobile device operations, Wu Sa has already confirmed the move to the inquirer.net, and also unveiled a series of details on the hardware specifications the new device will feature.

Apparently, the new smartphone is set to arrive on shelves with a 1GHz application processor inside, as well as with 512MB of RAM.

It will also sport 4GB of internal memory when made available for purchase, along with 3D acceleration and a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back.

Some of the previous rumors on the handset unveiled that it will pair the Windows Phone 7.5 OS flavor with a 4.3-inch touchscreen display capable of an 800 × 480 pixels WVGA resolution, which will make it an appealing device, provided that its price tag will be a low one.

ZTE Tania was said to include built-in GPS receiver with A- GPS, UMTS / HSPA + 900/2100MHz bands, and WiFi connectivity capabilities.

The ZTE Spirit is set to arrive in the UK via a wireless carrier in the near future, and is said to be “essentially a part of the Skate family which supports both Android and Windows.” Wu Sa also added that it is the Mango-powered equivalent of the ZTE Skate.
