
Third beta of Mandriva 2007, named "Tyr" was released yesterday:
"Still available in four different versions (KDE or GNOME, i586 or x86_64) and a Dual Architecture Installation DVD, get a closer look at the next Mandriva Linux 2007 edition. Note that not all of the newfeatures have been implemented yet and that a beta version is notbug-proof, on the contrary. Known Issues for this release:■ Network module b44 is not working properly (fixed in cooker)
■ Some menu entries are not yet displayed because the XDG migration is not finished
■ The default index.html page for browser is not correctly generated (fixed in cooker)
■ Anti Aliasing may not be activated correctly on KDE
What's new in Beta 3?■ New 3D desktop support (both with AIGLX and Xgl) and new tool to configure it (drak3d)
■ New One CD with 3D desktop support (AIGLX and Xgl, both on KDE and Gnome, autodetection of the best 3D solution)
■ The new rpmdrake is now included
■ More applications migrated to XDG menus
■ GNOME 2.16 RC 1
■ Kernel 2.6.17 (based on 2.6.17.8, with ALSA 1.0.12 rc2, i965 support, and new kernel factorization: normal, enterprise and legacy)
