Thanks a lot for your review! I'd suggest you to enable Desktop effects too, because they change the overall look-and-feel considerably, in all aspects (widgets, panel, and so on).

Honestly, not impressed. The whole desktop looks rather cheap. The bottom bar looks horrible - come on, it's 2011! Win98 style no longer rules! :)

You have to test it to believe it.. Screenshots don't make justice to the polite, fast and ellegant experience in Mandriva 2011, specially with the desktop effects on.. just brilliant

Looks good! Even if you can change the looks to your liking. I am looking forward to test the search functionality in the menu...

Sono perplesso,
è una copia del look di elementary
con l'aggiunta di quel coso orribile chiamato
rosa panel che oltre ad essere orribile si porta dietro un set di icone ancora peggiori!
Ne avevamo bisogno?

KDE done right is it? Still remember my Mandrake.
Honestly though its a beautiful KDE mimicking osx dock (why? plasma is already great, please stop degrading free desktop by making it look like commercial "sucksesses"!)

I really cant believe that people are praising this dog ugly distro and in the same breath putting down gnome 3 distros. Everything innovative here is already Fedora 15, it just looks and works better.

What is up with that launcher? I installed it on a test machine and was completely put off by the incredibly huge iphone type application launcher. Which by the way does not have the applications as the default. It is heavy, bulky, and goes far beyond the scope of what an application launcher needs to be. I need it to start applications, not manage files.

Old, ugly

Comment #10.1 by: Mandy on 01 Jul 2011, 08:07 GMT

Not old, not ugly... have you tested it? I'm sure you not.

Absolutely awesome. I love the new look of Mandriva. And also like the new features. I'll have to download this and try it out

Comment #11.1 by: kusan on 01 Jul 2011, 10:06 GMT

I am using it now. its a huge improvement....i like it. But i hate the large icons in the bottom panel ...request mandriva to make them smaller in the final release

Comment #12 by: rishidev on 04 Jul 2011, 05:43 UTC reply to this comment

mandrake linux 10.1 was the best os ever in the computing world. After many releases over half a decade(ultra stable kde 4.6.44) and sorting out their legalities i hope they make this the best OS again. I'd recommend the brain * scheduler for them to incorporate it into the kernel for optimized desktop performance.

I'm a new mandrive user, and i like it so much, but i'm afraid of this new mandriva 2011, the color bar and the large icons are not so good as i expected. Please Mandriva developers improve this items.
