One man from Ohio has just become the latest, most unlikely Internet star after his mugshot has gone viral. Though with a criminal record to impress, it’s the misspelled tattoo he has on his forehead that’s made him famous.
The
Smoking Gun uncovered the man’s mugshot and posted it online – from here, it got picked up by several media outlets and, most importantly, by all celebrity blogs.
At first sight, there’s nothing about Jerome Smith’s face to make you laugh. The 27-year-old man is heavily tattooed and, by the look in his eyes, he’s not the kind one would want to mess with.
He also has the word “Omerta” tattooed on his throat in plain sight, as the Smoking Gun points out, which means, again, that he’s not the kind to treat anyone kindly if provoked.
But his forehead reads “Jenius” instead of “Genius,” so this is why he’s now an Internet star.
“Fresh from prison, an Ohio man with the word ‘Genius’ tattooed on his forehead is facing an assault charge for allegedly striking a pregnant woman in the head with a gun,” the Smoking Gun writes.
“Jerome Smith, 27, was arrested yesterday for allegedly battering Tiera Bryant Saturday at a Cincinnati residence. Bryant is eight months pregnant, according to an affidavit filed in Hamilton County Municipal Court,” the report reads.
“Pictured in the mug shot at right, Smith is jailed in lieu of $50,000 bond. Along with his questionable ‘Genius’ ink, Smith has ‘Omerta’ tattooed on his throat. The Italian word’s common definition refers to the Mafia’s code of silence,” the Smoking Gun says.
Other questionable tattoos that have gone viral recently include the
ice cream cone rapper Gucci Mane got on his cheek earlier this year (complete with thunder bolts and the writing “Brrr”) and the
Facebook-inspired tat T-Pain got on his arm.
However, at least those two did not include any misspellings.
