The dog's master made a run for it, the confused pooch followed him and led the police officers right to him

They say that a dog is the absolute best friend anyone could ever hope for. Still, it looks like there are some pooches that are utterly and completely clueless about what being the perfect pet entails.

Not to beat about the bush, it was earlier this week that a rather confused dog helped police officers in the US catch its master and take him into custody.

Whether the dog decided to side with the officers because he wanted to take revenge on its human for not playing fetch with it more often or simply because it was one of those pooches with a nose for justice remains a mystery.

A fairly unusual chase and arrest

Information shared with the public by the police officers in charge of handling this case says that the incident occurred in the city of Prattville in Alabama, US, this past Wednesday.

On that day, a team of 2 drug officers took time off their busy schedule to pay one Edwin Henderson a home visit. The officers brought a search warrant with them and were looking to arrest the man.

Almost as soon as the police officers showed up at his door, Edwin Henderson realized that he was in serious trouble and decided to make a run for it. Unfortunately, he failed to factor in how his dog would react to his running away.

According to Daily Mail, the pooch, named Bo, saw fit to follow his fleeing master. Besides, when an investigator commanded him to go to his human, he ran straight to Edwin Henderson, who was hiding in a patch of tall grass, and started wagging its tail.

Truth be told, chances are that Bo thought that this chase was no more and no less than some sort of a game, an oddly entertaining and appealing one for that matter. Unfortunately, his master didn't exactly have the time of his life.

What's next on the agenda?

Having been taken into custody, Edwin Henderson is to be trialled for possession of drug paraphernalia, manufacturing of a controlled substance, and failure to obey police. If found guilty, he will likely spend some time in prison.

For the time being, it is unclear who is currently looking after Bo and what will happen to this pooch, should its master be made to serve time. Hopefully, a loving family will step up and offer to look after it. Then again, maybe Bo would much rather join the forces and spend the rest of its life fighting crime.
