Zimbabwe holds a competition for the “aesthetically challenged” every year, and one man is the undisputed winner.

According to Spy Ghana, this is the second time that William Masvinhu has been declared the ugliest man in Harare.

The “Mr Ugly Harare” contest was first held in 2011, but it has since grown. Masvinhu was awarded one year's tuition for one of his kids.

Benny Chakanyuka, coming in second, walked away with $100 (€72) and second runner-up, Funny Musekiwa, was granted $50 (€36). Participants also received overalls, safety shoes and rain coats.

“My ugliness comes naturally to me and although I did a bit to prepare for the show, I let them do the rest,” Masvinhu says. He jokes about not even having to prepare for the contest.
