Man says hospital dressed him in pink undies, files lawsuit for emotional distress

Earlier this week, a man living in the US filed a lawsuit against the Delaware Surgery Center on the grounds that, back in 2012, he was horrifically humiliated by staff working at this healthcare center.

More precisely, the man says that, having undergone a routine colonoscopy while under anesthesia, he woke up to find that, while he was still recovering from the intervention, somebody had dressed him in ladies’ undies.

Besides, the former Delaware Surgery Center patient, identified as Andrew Walls, maintains that the undies weren't plain white or something equally mainstream. On the contrary, they were bright pink, lacy ones.

Andrew Walls' undies-induced ordeal

As mentioned, the incident occurred a couple of years ago. Specifically, it was in October 2012 that Andrew Walls visited the Delaware Surgery Center for what should have been a run-of-the-mill bowel examination.

In the paperwork filed at the New Castle County Superior Court, the 32-year-old man alleges that, when the anesthesia started to wear off, he found that, for reasons still unknown, he was wearing nothing but pink ladies' underwear.

The man maintains that, when he checked in at the Delaware Surgery Center, he was wearing regular, manly undies. He goes on to argue that he not even once mentioned that he would like to be dressed in pink underwear, and that he has no idea how he ended up wearing lacy lingerie.

“When the plaintiff recovered from the effects of the anesthesia administered by defendants, he awoke to realize that while he was unconscious pink women’s underwear had been placed on his body,” the complaint filed against the healthcare center reads, as cited by The Inquisitr.

Furthermore, “When the plaintiff initially presented for his colonoscopy he had not been wearing pink women’s underwear and at no time did the plaintiff voluntarily, knowingly or intentionally place the pink women’s underwear upon himself.”

32-year-old Andrew Walls maintains that, following this incident, he felt seriously humiliated and even experienced mental anguish. He also says that, because of his poor mental state, he found it nearly impossible to go about his business as usual and even lost his job. Hence, he is seeking damages for emotional distress.

A possible explanation

Interestingly enough, it appears that, at the time this incident occurred, the man was himself an employee of the Delaware Surgery Center. Consequently, some say that the entire affair might have been no more and no less than a prank his colleagues decided to play on him.

For the time being, the medical center's managerial team claim that they had no idea such an incident occurred before the 32-year-old announced his plans to drag the Delaware Surgery Center to court. An investigation is ongoing, and it should soon be made clear whether or not Andrew Wall's allegations are true.
